Bajaj Auto has released a new promotional video of its flagship motorcycle Dominar 400. The video starts with the Dominar 400’s feat of riding from the Arctic to the Antarctic during the Bajaj Dominar Polar Odyssey. The Dominar 400 is the first Made-in-India bike to enter the Antarctic Circle. The video also includes the Dominar Trans-Siberian and the Austral-Asian Odyssey that took the flagship Bajaj motorcycle through extreme conditions.

The feat of successfully concluding the challenging road trips are followed by the visuals of the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 UG (Upgrade) emerging from a cloud of dust. The new video highlights all the changes that the motorcycle has received as part of the MY2019 upgrade. The video concludes with the company’s new tagline for the Dominar 400 – Don’t Hold Back.
Unlike the promotional video that was released in April this year, the new footage shows the 2019 Dominar 400 in the Auroral Green paint scheme. Regular readers would remember that the previous video showed the motorcycle in Glossy Red and Matte Silver colours. The gloss red paint was also seen in Bajaj Auto’s 'World's Favourite Indian' campaign. Bajaj officials had told us at the media-ride of the 2019 Dominar 400 that the company could introduce more colours for its flagship motorcycle depending on the demand. Apart from Auroral Green, the 2019 Dominar 400 is available in Matte Black paint.
Changes to the mechanical specifications include the addition of a dual overhead camshaft that replaces the single overhead camshaft from the previous model. The motor continues to have 373.3 cc displacement, but the power output has gone up. The liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine makes 5 PS more than its predecessor, taking the maximum power to 40 PS (at 8,650 rpm). The peak torque remains at 35 Nm (at 7,000 rpm).
Revised hardware includes 43 mm upside down (USD) forks that replace the right side up telescopic units from the first generation model. The rear continues to feature an adjustable monoshock. The new twin barrel exhaust further distinguishes the latest model from the discontinued version.

Braking department has also seen some changes, and the front wheel of the 2019 Dominar 400 now features radial callipers. The motorcycle retains the safety net of dual-channel ABS. The Dominar 400 is currently the only Bajaj motorcycle with a dual-channel ABS, while the rest of the line-up features a cost-efficient single-channel ABS or a CBS. Other upgrades include revised instrument console setup, bungee straps, spacecraft inspired tank pad decals, forged steel side stand and new mirror design with cast aluminium stalks.
