It’s been over a month since the new safety norms mandated the installation of Anti-lock Braking System on two-wheelers above 125 cc displacement. Yet, we haven’t received any update about the addition of this safety feature to the flagship Mahindra motorcycle - the Mojo.

While we still await an official announcement, a new image of the ABS-equipped Mahindra Mojo has surfaced online. It is said that the Mahindra Mojo ABS will come in only one new variant. Do note that Mahindra offered the Mojo in two variants – the XT300 and UT300 – before 31 March.

Meanwhile, the report adds that the upcoming Mahindra Mojo ABS will pack hardware such as conventional telescopic forks, fuel injection and a single exhaust outlet. For reference, the XT variant of the flagship Mahindra Two-wheeler received upside-down telescopic forks, dual exhaust outlets, Pirelli tyres and fuel injection system while the UT version packed conventional telescopic forks, single silencer, MRF tyres and a carburettor. Thus, the upcoming model, if launched, will be a combination of the XT and the UT variants that would be designed to offer a better value-for-money proposition.

The Mahindra Mojo ABS may feature MRF tyres instead of Pirelli tyres for competitive pricing. The instrument console will an additional indicator, of ABS. The engine specifications will reportedly remain unchanged. The BS-IV 294.72 cc single-cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC motor with fuel injection churns out 26.8 PS and 30 Nm of torque. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox. Only the front disc brake will be governed by ABS.
