The highly anticipated Hyundai Venue has been finally launched in India, its first market worldwide, with prices starting at just INR 6.50 lakh*.
The Hyundai Venue is the South Korean automaker’s first sub-4 metre SUV primarily focused at India. Developed at a cost of $100 million and in a time of four years, it sits below the Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Kona (not sold in India). The small SUV measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width and 1,605 mm (with roof rails) in height. It has a 2,500-long wheelbase, and it offers a boot space of 350 litres.
Hyundai sells the Venue with three engine options. The most basic option is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit 83 PS and 11.7 kg.m (115 Nm) of torque. It comes linked to a 5-speed MT. Above it, there’s a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit good for 120 PS and 17.5 kg.m (172 Nm), married to a standard 6-speed MT or an optional 7-speed DCT. The top-of-the-line engine option is a 1.4L turbocharged diesel mill developing 90 PS and 22.4 kg.m (220 Nm) of torque. It comes paired with a 6-speed MT.
The fuel economy rating of the 1.2L petrol engine model is 17.52 km/l, while the 1.0L engine petrol engine model delivers a best-in-class fuel economy (petrol) of 18.27 km/l (MT)/18.15 km/l (DCT). The 1.4L diesel engine model returns 23.70 km/l.
On the outside, the Hyundai Venue features two-tier headlamps, large, dark chrome front grille, silver skid plates, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, squarish tail lamps and shark fin antenna. Inside, the B-SUV features leatherette + fabric upholstery, electric sunroof, rear AC vents (India-only feature), air purifier, wireless phone charger, 8-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Arkamys sound system.
The Hyundai Venue is being marketed as India’s first connected SUV. It packs 33 different connected vehicle features, out of which 10 are exclusive to India. These features are offered under Hyundai Blue Link which has an in-built Vodafone-Idea eSIM and a cloud-based voice recognition platform from Sound Hound.
On the safety front, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, central locking, impact sensing auto door unlock, speed sensing auto door lock, front SBR, high-speed alert and ISOFIX child-seat anchorages are standard. Side and curtain airbags, ESC, VSM, HAC, rear camera, passive keyless entry, burglar alarm and more safety features are available.

Hyundai offers the Venue in Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Fiery Red, Denim Blue, Lava Orange, Stardust and Deep Forest exterior colours. Polar White (with Denim Blue) and Phantom Black (with Polar White and Lava Orange) roof colour options are available. Interior theme choices include black single-tone, Khaki dual-tone and Denim Blue dual-tone.
