The Yamaha MT-15 was spied testing for the first time in India earlier this week. A test mule of the Indian-spec version has been spotted yet again, in the Delhi-NCR region.

The Indian-spec Yamaha MT-15 will feature telescopic front forks, a box-type swingarm and Yamaha R15 V3.0 sourced alloy wheels.

The Yamaha MT-15 is essentially a naked version of the Yamaha R15 V3.0. The Indian-spec MT-15 features quite a few changes as compared to the Thai-spec model. The test mule is seen with conventional telescopic front forks and a different set of 17-inch alloy wheels, both of which are sourced from the Yamaha R15 V3.0.

Furthermore, the box-type swingarm and the MRF tyres are shared with the Yamaha R15S. That said, the MT-15 features a linkage-type rear mono-shock, which should offer excellent handling prowess. The new Yamaha MT-15 debuted in Thailand last October.

The design highlights include a new bug-eyed LED headlamp and a Yamaha MT-09 inspired styling. The MT-15 features a muscular fuel tank with extended tank scoops and a lowered tail section with a single-piece seat. The motorcycle is equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster from the Yamaha R15 V3.0.

The comfortable riding ergonomics of the Yamaha MT-15 are aided by a wide handlebar and slightly rear-set footpegs. The motorcycle is underpinned by the superb Deltabox chassis, which has proved its mettle in the Yamaha R15 V3.0.

Powering the Yamaha MT-15 is a 155 cc SOHC, 4-valve, liquid-cooled motor from the YZF-R15 V3.0. The fuel-injected engine benefits from VVA (variable valve actuation) and develops 19.1 PS of maximum power and 14.8 Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed slipper-clutch assisted gearbox transfers drive to the wheel via a final chain drive.
