A few weeks after unveiling the 2019 Jeep Renegade in Italy, FCA has released more information on the SUV along with images detailing the new Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. The Renegade facelift gets minor cosmetic changes and new engines.
Compared the outgoing model, the 2019 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk gets all-LED headlamps and an updated grille section. The front bumper is identical to the pre-facelift model. It, however, misses out on the bright red front tow-hooks, which are a Trailhawk signature. At the back, there are revised tail lights and a door handle for the rear hatch. The alloy wheels are new as well.
Compared to the Limited trim, the Trailhawk gets a dual tone look, different bumpers, bigger wheels, black anti-glare patch on the bonner, and Trailhawk badging. In all, there will be four trims to choose from - Sport, Longitude, Limited, and Trailhawk.
Notable features on offer are Uconnect infotainment system with either a 5-inch, 7-inch or an 8.4-inch display supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety features on offer include Lane Sense Departure Warning-Plus, Intelligent Speed Assist with Traffic Sign Recognition, and Forward Collision Warning-Plus with Active Emergency Braking.
Jeep has revealed that the Renegade facelift will be equipped with new 120 hp 1.0 L and 150 hp or 180 hp 1.3 L turbocharged Multiair III petrol engines. Diesel variant will employ either a 120 hp 1.6 L unit or a 140 hp/170 hp 2.0 L Multijet II engine. The former can be paired with either a manual or a DDCT (Dry Dual Clutch Transmission), while the latter is available with a manual gearbox or a 9-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive layouts will be offered. The Jeep Renegade Trailhawk will have standard 4x4.
FCA has announced that the 2019 Jeep Renegade will go on sale in Italy in the second half of July. The Renegade will reach the rest of Europe in September 2018. Markets outside Europe like Russia, the Middle East, and Africa will have to wait until the end of this year for the updated Jeep Renegade.
The official release from FCA does not talk about the launch of the 2019 Jeep Renegade in the USA. Expect the North American market to receive the updated model by end 2018 as well. The Jeep Renegade is rumoured for the Indian market as a Hyundai Creta rival. However, while FCA has confirmed a sub 4 m SUV and a three-row SUV for India, the Renegade has not been officially announced for the market yet.
