The 2019 Hyundai Santro’s prices have leaked ahead of its launch on 23 October. According to the 'temporary' price list sourced from a dealership by GaadiWaadi, the range starts at INR 3.88 lakh (ex-showroom Haryana NCR).
IAB reached out to dealerships to confirm the prices mentioned in the leaked document, but it was unable to do so. The 2019 Hyundai Santro’s starting price falls right between that of its rivals Tata Tiago (INR 3,39,821* onwards) and Maruti Celerio (INR 4,21,386* onwards). Its range includes nine different configurations comprising five equipment lines, two engine options and two transmission choices.
Hyundai will offer the 2019 Santro in Dlite, Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta grades. All grades will use a 1.1-litre petrol engine that produces 69 PS and 99 Nm of torque as standard. Customers selecting the Magna and Sportz grade will have the option of a 1.1-litre petrol-CNG engine that develops 59 PS and 84 Nm of torque. The petrol engine model will have an ARAI-certified fuel economy rating of 20.3 km/l.
As for the transmission choices, they will include 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual. However, the company will restrict the latter to the petrol engine model and the Magna and Sportz grades.

The 2019 Hyundai Santro will feature rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, speed alert system, driver and co-driver SBR and driver airbag as standard. The Asta grade will feature passenger airbag, front fog lamps and a reverse parking camera as well. Other highlights of the range-topping grade will include electrically folding exterior mirrors with integrated turn indicators, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, rear AC vents and steering mounted audio controls.
