The 2019 Hyundai Elantra has been launched in India with prices starting at INR 1.5.89 lakh*. It is offered in four variants, namely S, SX, SX AT and SX (O) AT.
The 2019 Hyundai Elantra comes updated with a slew of exterior design changes including a new cascading grille which complements the remastered bumper at the front. That, along with the sleeker, LED Quad projector headlamps and triangular fog lamps make its face aggressive-looking. Furthermore, its neatly carved crease lines on the bonnet make it look more intimidating. The rear-end now features much sharper graphics on its newly designed combination lamps. Also, the rear bumper now comprises reverse lights and registration plate. The facelifted car has a new tailgate with 'ELANTRA' lettering on it, giving it a more elegant touch.
The new Hyundai Elantra rolls on standard 16-inch alloy wheels which also sport a new design. It is available in five exterior colours – Marina Blue, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Phantom Black and Fiery Red.
On the inside, the changes are rather subtle. The new AC vents have a sleeker look and the new climate control panel uplifts the sedan's elegance. The new steering wheel is at crossroads, though, with its curviness that simply doesn't go with the sharp exterior. Base trim buyers are in for a treat, as unlike the old model that came with a 5-inch touchscreen audio system, the new model comes with a 7-inch unit. The 8-inch unit of the higher trims is a carried over unit. For music lovers, the updated model packs a new, Infinity premium sound system with door speakers, centre speaker, tweeters, amplifier and sub-woofer.
The revised instrument cluster integrates a colour MID, which is also an upgrade from the monochrome MID of the old model. The new Hyundai Elantra is India's first Connected Sedan with Hyundai's advanced car connectivity solution - ‘Hyundai Blue Link’. As seen in the Hyundai Venue, it is an in-built and tamper-proof device powered by Vodafone-Idea eSIM and a Cloud-based Voice Recognition platform.
The new model is safer too. Unlike in the old model, six airbags are standard. Moreover, the list of safety features includes Tyre Pressure Monitoring System as well.
