The 2019 BMW 3 Series has been displayed at the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show. The latest-gen 3'er costs 2.959 to 3.359 million baht (INR 64,10,954 - 72,77,592) in Thailand.
The 2019 BMW 3 Series is the seventh generation of the world's most popular premium car. It looks sleeker, sportier, and bigger than all its predecessors. On the outside, the new model comes with Adaptive LED headlights with BMW Laserlight, 19-inch alloy wheel, L-shaped LED rear lights and a sporty twin-pipe exhaust system. Highlights of the cabin include a BMW Operating System 7.0-based BMW Live Cockpit Professional with 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch Control Display and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, and BMW Head-Up Display with a 70% larger projection area.
The Thai-spec 2019 BMW 3 Series is available in two engine variants- 320d and 330i. The former is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel unit that produces a maximum power of 190 PS and a peak torque of 400 Nm, while the latter is propelled by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol motor that offers 258 PS and 400 Nm. Both the engines come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels.
The 2019 BMW 3 Series is underpinned by the CLAR platform and is up to 55 kg lighter than the outgoing version. It measures 4,709 mm in length, 1,827 mm in width, and 1,442 mm in height. The new model has a wheelbase of 2,851 mm, which is 41 mm longer than that of the previous version. The all-new 3'er offers a boot space of 480 litres, which is 36 litres higher than before.
Earlier this month, a camouflaged test mule of the 2019 BMW 3 Series was spotted testing in Pune. The new model is likely to launch in India in mid-2019. Expectedly, it will have a starting price of more than INR 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
