While we are still awaiting the launch details of the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400, the complete technical specifications of the upcoming motorcycle have been revealed on social media pages. The leaked specs confirm the fact that the 2019 Dominar 400 would get a more powerful engine.

As opposed to the 35 PS of maximum power on the outgoing model, the 373.27 cc single-cylinder, liquid cooled engine on the 2019 model would make 39.9 PS of output at 8,650 rpm. The peak torque remains at 35 Nm but it now comes at 7,000 rpm instead of 6,500 rpm on the previous model. The engine would continue to use a 6-speed transmission and retain the slipper clutch function. Bore and stroke would remain unchanged at 89 mm and 60 mm respectively.
Warning signs on the instrument console have also been revised and the 2019 Dominar 400 would display an alert message on the screen instead of an indicator. The message display area is placed on the left top of the screen, above the digital tachometer. The warning signs that would be shown on the DOT matrix display would include:
- Low oil pressure
- Coolant temperature
- Low battery
- Bajaj logo
- Service reminder
- Side stand indicator
This would help to unclutter the screen and display the information more efficiently. The instrument console would also witness the addition of an amber sign for the alarm indicator, a feature that was not available on the outgoing model. The display would also provide information about:
- Current fuel consumption
- Average fuel consumption
- Average speed
- Trip time
- Fuel range
- Active warning on DOT matrix
Amber display indicator icons that would be seen on the screen include:
- ABS
- High beam
- Neutral indicator
- Malfunction
- Turn indicator
- Generic alarm
- RPM limit
- Low fuel
The 2019 model would be marginally wider (836 mm v/s 813 mm) and heavier (184.5 kg v/s 182 kg – kerb) than its predecessor. Other specifications such as the perimeter frame, 13-litre fuel tank capacity, and the tyre sizes would remain unchanged. The reserve fuel capacity continues at three litres.
The motorcycle, as seen in the spy images and videos in the past, would get upside down forks. The new forks would require oil quantity of 440 ml as against 420 ml on the outgoing version. Lighting, similar to the outgoing model, would be full LED.
