A Yamaha dealership has customised the R15 V3.0, and reader Shreyas MA has shared images of the three creations.
The special editions feature graphics kits that include Movistar, Monster Energy and the custom Yamaha FIAMM decals. The Movistar edition is inspired from the MotoGP bikes, while the Monster Energy version features edgy fluorescent yellow, white and black stickers along with the Monster Energy logos on the fairing, fuel tank and tail.
The custom Yamaha R15 V3.0 FIAMM edition features Yamaha and FIAMM decals on the side panels and tank. All three motorcycles feature blue racing stripes on the alloy wheels. Apart from the graphics, the bikes don't change.
Powering the Yamaha R15 V3.0 is a 155cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve, oil-cooled DOHC motor with variable valve actuation (VVA) technology. The fuel-injected engine is capable of producing 19.1 PS of maximum power and 14.8 Nm of peak torque. A slipper-clutch assisted six-speed transmission transfers control to the wheel.
Anchorage is provided by a 282 mm hydraulic front disc and a 220 mm hydraulic rear disc. While ABS isn’t offered even as an option, it will be made mandatory from 1 April 2019. Moreover, an October 5 report suggests that India Yamaha Motor has started road trials of the YZF-R15 V3.0 ABS.
Unlike the global-spec Yamaha R15 V3.0, which features USD forks, the India-spec model comes equipped with telescopic forks and an adjustable link-type mono-shock at the back. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that pair with 100-section front and 130-section rear MRF Revz tyres with an option of a stickier H-rated Metzeler tyre at the back.
