Following the launch of the special editions of the Swift and the Ignis, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has revealed a limited-run version of the Baleno. Christened Maruti Baleno Limited Edition, the new model sports exterior and interior updates.
On the outside, the Maruti Baleno Limited Edition features sporty skirting on the front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and side rub strips with chrome highlights. The interior features black quilted seat covers, 3D floor mats, and illuminated scuff guards. Additional features include a smart key finder, NEXA key ring, premium tissue box, and premium cushions.
In all likelihood, the Maruti Baleno Limited Edition will be sold as an accessory pack fitted by NEXA dealerships. While the company is yet to reveal the price, safely expect to pay roughly Rs 30,000 more for the kit. Mechanically, the premium hatchback remains unchanged.
The Maruti Baleno Limited Edition comes in two engine variants - 1.2-litre K12M four-cylinder petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS190 four-cylinder diesel. The petrol-sipping motor outputs a maximum power of 82 bhp and a peak torque of 113 Nm. It comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard. An optional CVT is available on select trims. The oil-burner outputs a maximum power of 74 bhp and a peak torque of 190 Nm. It comes paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Maruti also sells the Baleno RS, a more powerful petrol-sipping variant that features a 1.0-litre K10C turbocharged Boosterjet engine that outputs 101 bhp and 150 Nm. It comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
The Maruti Baleno is on sale in a price bracket of INR 5.38 - 8.5 Lakhs. With an average monthly sale of 18,264 units*, it is the highest selling model in the B2 segment.
