To make the most of the surge in sales during the festive period, Maruti Suzuki has introduced a limited edition of the Swift. Called the Maruti Swift Special Edition, the model is based on the entry-level trim. It's available in petrol and diesel engines and prices start at INR 4.99 lakh.

The Maruti Swift Special Edition sports several dealership-level fitments that enhance its value.

The Maruti Swift Special Edition carries several new features in addition to the ones available on the LXi and the LDi variants. On the outside, the latest limited-run model sports black wheel caps, body-coloured door handles, and body-coloured housings for the Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs).

The interior of the Maruti Swift Special Edition comes with a Bluetooth-enabled single DIN music system with dual front speakers, power windows for driver and front passenger, central locking and reverse parking sensors. The additional features are dealership-level fitments and don't affect the warranty.

The Maruti Swift has been on sale with two options - 1.2-litre K12M four-cylinder petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engines. The former produces a maximum power of 81.80 hp @ 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 113 Nm @ 4,200 rpm. The oil-burner outputs a maximum power of 74 hp @ 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 190 Nm @ 2,000 rpm. Both motors come mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard and a five-speed AMT is optional.
