The reported 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 was spotted once again, but something seems fishy. The Dominar 400 is built and tested around Bajaj’s plant in Pune, Maharashtra. Thus, every test mule by Bajaj comes with an MH (Maharashtra) passing TC number plate.

The motorcycle, as seen in previous spy images, continues to feature upside down telescopic forks and a revised colour combination on the fuel tank.

The motorcycle in photographs posted by Thrustzone, however, was seen with KL (Kerala) passing and a permanent registration number.

The motorcycle in latest photographs, similar to the previous sighting, was equipped with upside down telescopic front forks, new exhaust design and a larger radiator. Visual upgrades aren’t too many and the bike continues to feature muscular styling, dual-tone paint scheme, and full LED lighting. The black part on the fuel tank takes up more space than the current Dominar 400.

The updated Dominar 400 would most likely be BS-VI compliant. The new emission norms are scheduled to come into effect from April 2020. The 373cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine will receive major upgrades to comply with the new standards that may lead to revised performance numbers. For reference, the current Dominar 400, with its BS-IV compliant engine, delivers 35 PS of maximum power and 35 Nm of peak torque. The current generation model features a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch, and that setup is not likely to change on the updated Dominar 400.

New safety norms would make ABS mandatory on all motorcycles above 125 cc and hence the base variant has limited time left on the market. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto had confirmed in an interview that the company is "now going to market new Dominars."
