TeamBHP member 'blackwasp' has posted more details about the 2018 Maruti Ciaz (facelift) which is reported to launch on August 20. Confirming previous reports, the 2018 Ciaz will get a new instrument cluster similar to the Maruti Baleno, which sports a color multi-information display.

The Baleno will lend its color multi-information display to the 2018 Ciaz.

Further, it is reported that only the petrol AT variant will get ESC and hill assist function, however, variants from the Delta upwards will get alloy wheels. The top-end Alpha however will feature 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels whereas other trims get 15-inch wheels.

On the safety front, the seat belt reminder will now be available for the front passenger (earlier available only for the driver), but like before, all variants get ABS and dual front airbags. Finally, the Alpha and Zeta variants of the 2018 Ciaz will be equipped with LED headlights, LED foglights and LED daytime running lights.

As reported earlier, the 2018 Ciaz will be powered by a new 1.5-liter K15B VVT four-cylinder petrol engine, which is reported to output 103 bhp and 138 Nm of torque. It will be offered with the 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic, however, fuel efficiency has gone up, reportedly. The 2018 Ciaz petrol manual will return 21.56 km/l and the petrol automatic 20.28 km/l, a report last week stated. Key to the increased efficiency will be the introduction of the SHVS mild-hybrid system, which until now, was offered only on the diesel variant of the Ciaz.
