The 2018 Maruti Ciaz was spotted on public roads without any camouflage. Spy shots of a Nexa Blue test mule have surfaced online on Team-BHP, giving a closer look at the changes implemented by the mid-cycle refresh.
The Maruti Ciaz gets a number of exterior changes with its mid-cycle refresh, with most of them concentrated at the front. Wider radiator grille, inverted lower grille, reshaped fog lamp housing, new headlamps with LED DRLs, and a revised bumper with C-shaped chrome details are the main changes at the front. On the sides, the 2018 Maruti Ciaz features new alloy wheels. At the rear, the updated sedan has tweaked tail lamps with what appear to be LED fixtures.
Inside, spy shots have revealed that the 2018 Maruti Ciaz features new faux wood trim and revised instrument cluster with a lower-positioned MID. Maruti Suzuki will offer a cruise control system in the new model, a convenience feature unavailable currently.
Maruti Suzuki will swap the K14B 1.4-litre petrol engine that produces 68 kW (92 PS) and 130 Nm of torque with a bigger, more powerful unit. The new engine is likely to be the all-new Suzuki Ertiga’s K15B 1.5-litre unit that develops 104.7 PS and 138 Nm of torque. With the facelift, the SHVS mild-hybrid system will make it to the petrol engine model. Next year, the Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine will be discontinued in favour of a Suzuki-developed 1.5-litre diesel engine, which could be BSVI-compliant.

The new Maruti Ciaz is said to go on sale by July this year. The added features and the new engine may translate to hike in the price of the top-end trims. The sedan will continue to rival the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, VW Vento, and the Skoda Rapid.
