Mahindra is rigorously testing the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 in India ahead of launch. IAB reader Robinson recently spotted a facelifted Mahindra XUV500 testing on the road.
The Mahindra XUV500 has already received a facelift once, and the second facelift isn’t expected to bring extensive visual changes. At the front, the new XUV500 should have a new radiator grille and a new air dam grille. On the sides, the three-row SUV is likely to receive new 10-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, its tailgate should have a revised license plate housing. Interior changes, if planned, are currently unknown.
The Mahindra XUV500’s second minor refresh will bring significant performance improvements. It will employ a new 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that produces 170 hp and around 400 Nm of torque. In comparison, the current model’s 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine develops 140 hp and 330 Nm of torque. There’s no word on any upgrades for the 1.99-litre mHawk diesel engine (140 hp/320 Nm) available in Delhi-NCR yet.
