Coming back to the 2018 Suzuki RM-Z450, it uses a 449 cc single cylinder 4-stroke DOHC engine with fuel injection and liquid cooling. The engine pairs with a 5-speed gearbox. Electronic package includes Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control (S-HAC). It is a selectable launch system which the brand has derived from the factory race bike to help riders’ accelerate optimally. There are three modes - Base Mode (Standard power launch), A Mode and B Mode. A Mode is suitable for hard surfaces or slippery conditions at the starting gate. The B Mode is for more aggressive launch and is ideal for experienced riders.
The motocross bike rides on upside down front fork with adjustable damping and a link-type BFRC monoshock with adjustable spring preload & damping force. Brakes include petal discs on both ends. If Suzuki launches the bike, it will most likely enter the country via the CBU route. The bike will rival Kawasaki KX450F and the Kawasaki KLX450R in the Indian market.
