Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) has showcased the 2018 Suzuki Hayabusa at the 2018 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. Here are the superbike’s live images.
Suzuki has priced the 2018 Hayabusa at INR 13,87,623 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Japanese brand imports the bike as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) Kits; and assembles them at the SMIPL factory in Manesar, Gurugram. The 2018 iteration comes in two new colours- Pearl Mira Red/Pearl Glacier White, and Glass Sparkle Black.
Apart from the new colours, there are no mechanical changes to the bike. The sweeping curves on the bodywork of the Suzuki Hayabusa are tempered with optimal aerodynamics to help the bike slice through the wind. The motorcycle gets an analogue-digital combo cluster. The sporty riding position isn’t too demanding, and the ergonomics are apt for easy mile-munching.
Using a 1,340cc in-line 4-cylinder DOHC engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection, it puts out 197 PS and 155 Nm. The powerplant pairs with a 6-speed transmission with Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS). The engine features three power mappings. It can be controlled via Suzuki Drive Mode Selector.
The Hayabusa incorporates a fully adjustable 43 mm KYB upside down front fork with Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating. The rear gets a link-type monoshock. For anchorage, the bike uses 310 mm dual front discs with Brembo Monobloc callipers. The rear uses a 260 mm disc with a single piston calliper. Specially developed Bridgestone BT-015 tyres wrap the alloy wheels. The bike comes with a massive 21-litre fuel tank and tips the scales at 266 kg, kerb.
