Renault has released a model year update for the Kwid in India and announced the 2.5 lakh sales milestone of the car. Here’s the 2018 Renault Kwid detailed in official images.
The 2018 Renault Kwid comes with new convenience and safety features. Renault has introduced three first-in-segment features for its entry-level car: rear armrest, rear 12-volt power socket and an integrated reverse parking camera. Another addition is ELR (Emergency Locking Retractor) seatbelts fitted to the rear as standard.
The rear camera is available in the RXT (O) grade and the Climber variant. Rear armrest and 12V power socket are included in the RXT (O) grade and the Climber variant respectively. The RXT (O) grade has gained new razor edge chrome grille and stylised chrome near the gear knob. The RXL grade now includes front power windows and remote central locking. Renault has taken the MY2018 update opportunity to also introduce the essential creep function in the Kwid AMT variant. The company calls it ‘Traffic Assist.’
The 2018 Renault Kwid is available with two engines: 0.8L SCe and 1.0L SCe. The 0.8-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine produces 54 PS and 72 Nm of torque. It is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine develops 68 PS and 91 Nm of torque. It routes power to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or the 5-speed Easy-R automated manual transmission.

The 2018 Renault Kwid’s prices are the same as those of the outgoing model. It comes with a 4 year/1 lakh km class-leading warranty along with roadside assistance too. Previously 2 year/50,000 km warranty and 2-year roadside assistance were standard. Bookings have commenced nationwide.
