The 2018 Porsche Cayenne Turbo is now available to order in India. Porsche has priced the performance-oriented variant of the third generation Porsche Cayenne at INR 1.92 crore (ex-showroom India).
The all-new Porsche Cayenne Turbo is the top-of-the-line model of the third generation SUV. At the heart of the flagship Porsche SUV, is the new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that puts out 404 kW (550 PS) at 5,750-6,000 rpm and 770 Nm of torque at 6,800 rpm. This means that the maximum power and maximum torque are up by 22 kW (30 PS) and 20 Nm respectively. The new 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission and the Porsche Traction Management AWD system work together to send drive to the wheels. The optional active anti-roll system now uses a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
For the first time, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo is available with an optional rear-axle steering, which improves agility through corners and when changing lanes during high-speed driving. The system, which Porsche has tried and tested both in the Porsche 911 and the Porsche Panamera, also makes everyday handling easier. Another new typical sports car feature is different tyres at the front and rear: 285/40 at the front and 315/35 at the rear.
The 2018 Porsche Cayenne Turbo takes 4.1 seconds for a 0-100 km/h sprint and has a top speed of 286 km/h. Opting the Sport Chrono Package reduces the 0-100 km/h acceleration time to 3.9 seconds. Porsche Surface Coated Brake system is standard, but there is an option to go for the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake system.
The new generation Porsche Cayenne Turbo has an even sharper design. It is differentiated from the other variants with an exclusive front-end, including double-row lighting modules, widened wheel arches with painted wheel arch trims, distinctive 21-inch alloy wheels, twin tailpipes, adaptive roof spoiler and sports steering wheel in an exclusive design. The adaptive roof spoiler is a first for an SUV. It increases downforce on the rear axle and even serves as an airbrake to shorten the braking distance from higher speeds.
