Porsche will offer the 2018 Porsche Cayenne in India in two variants at launch: Cayenne and Cayenne S.

The all-new Porsche Cayenne is the third generation of Porsche’s flagship SUV. The company offers it in three variants: Cayenne, Cayenne S, and Cayenne Turbo. Like other global markets, Porsche will offer only the Cayenne and Cayenne S in India at launch. Both variants are 4,918 mm long, 1,983 mm wide and 1,696 mm tall. They have a 2,895 mm wheelbase. There’s 770 litres of luggage space available, expandable to 1,710 litres on folding the rear seats.

Under the hood, the 2018 Porsche Cayenne has a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine that produces 340 PS from 5,300-6,400 rpm and 450 Nm of torque from 1,340-5,300 rpm. The 2018 Porsche Cayenne S sports a 3.0-litre bi-turbo V6 petrol engine that develops 440 PS from 5,700-6,600 rpm and 550 Nm of torque from 1,800-5,500 rpm. The 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission is common to both variants, and so is the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) active AWD system and Porsche Stability Management (PSM).

The 2018 Porsche Cayenne accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds (5.9 seconds with Sport Chrono package). It has a top speed of 245 km/h. 350 mm front disc brakes with four-piston callipers and 330 mm rear disc brakes with two-piston callipers provide the stopping power.

The 2018 Porsche Cayenne S takes 5.2 seconds (4.9 seconds with Sport Chrono package) to accelerate from 0-100 km/h. It has a top speed of 265 km/h and a more advanced braking system. There are 390 mm disc brakes with six-piston callipers at the front and 330 mm disc brakes with four-piston callipers at the back.

The third-gen Porsche Cayenne is the first-ever Porsche Cayenne available with electric rear-axle steering, which aids handling. For enhanced comfort, adaptive air suspension with new three-chamber technology is available. Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) active antiroll system is also available in the all-new Cayenne. It suppresses lateral body movement during cornering and also minimises the lateral instability of the vehicle on uneven ground. In simple terms, the driver and passengers benefit from improved dynamic performance and increased ride comfort. The Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) damper system is standard in the Cayenne S.
