Korean media outlet Auto Tribune has shared renderings of the third generation Mercedes CLS-Class. The 4-door coupe will draw design inspiration from the likes of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz A Sedan concept and the EQA concept.
While in profile the 2018 Mercedes CLS will remain true to its predecessors, the front section will be more aggressive. The render, based on images of camouflaged test mules, features Mercedes' Sparkling Diamond grille in case of the standard variant, while the AMG'd CLS gets the 'Panamericana' grille. The rear section could get tail lamps similar in profile to the S-Class Coupe/Cabriolet with OLED technology.
Auto Tribune has also shared a spy image of the interior revealing a dashboard nearly identical to that of the new E-Class. The only difference is likely to be in the form of upholstery choices. Like the previous generation models, the 2018 Mercedes CLS will also be based on the E-Class' platform. This new MRA platform also underpins the Mercedes S-Class.
