RushLane has shared new spy pictures of the 2018 Hyundai i20 facelift. The second generation i20, on sale in India since August 2014, will receive a mid-life refresh next year. The updated Hyundai Elite i20 could be unveiled at the Auto Expo, which opens its doors to the general public on February 9, 2018.
The test mule bears an 'Auto' badge on the front fender just below the turn signal indicating that this particular unit is the petrol auto variant. It sports a Star Dust paint finish. Plastic wheel covers indicate that this is likely to be the Magna trim as that is the only one Hyundai offers the i20 automatic in.
Previous spy shots of the 2018 Hyundai i20 have revealed a new front end with a Verna-like nose section housing Hyundai's signature 'Cascading' grille design. There will be new Mercedes CLA-like alloy wheels on offer. At the back, the i20 facelift will feature new tail lamp graphics. The number plate housing has moved up from the bumper to the boot lid.
Traditionally, Hyundai does not make any major changes to the interior with the launch of a facelift (Grand i10, Xcent). There could be new seat upholstery on offer along with possible tweaks to the features list.
Engine options including the 1.2 L Kappa petrol, 1.4 Gamma petrol (auto only), and 1.4 L U2 CRDi diesel are likely to be carried over. They may be retuned for better fuel efficiency, though.
