Hyundai Motor (Thailand) displayed the 2018 Hyundai Grand Starex, a version of the Hyundai H-1, at the recently concluded Thai Motor Expo. The updated premium people-mover is on sale in Thailand for THB 2,349,000 (INR 50,30,312).
The 2018 Hyundai Grand Starex (facelift) features a handful of styling updates, most of which can be found on the front fascia. The large MPV has received the company's signature Cascading grille, which is flanked by sleeker headlamps that carry projector setups. The bumper looks better sculpted and houses new fog lamps. The hood has been redesigned to ensure higher pedestrian safety in the event of a collision. In the side profile, the Starex receives new 17-inch alloy wheels, while the rear gets an updated registration plate housing and revised tail lamps with LED fixtures.
The spacious interior gains new leather seats that are more comfortable owing to the additional bolstering. The occupants benefit from adjustable leg pads and butterfly-type headrests that enhance the comfort level. Other than this, the four-spoke steering wheel is new, and the dashboard has been completely redesigned. The equipment on offer includes cruise control, LED interior lighting with Mood Lighting, Supervision instrument console, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with DVD player, WiFi, HDMI connection, and Bluetooth, and roof-mounted electrically folding Full HD 13.3" LCD screen.
The 2018 Hyundai Grand Starex is 5,150 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,970 mm tall. The people mover is available in a 3-seat van, 5-seat van, 9-seat, 11-seat, and 12-seat versions. Powering the 2018 Hyundai Grand Starex is a Euro 4-compliant 2.5-litre diesel engine that produces 175 PS at 3,600 rpm and 441 Nm at 2,000-2,250 rpm. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission.
