Bajaj Auto has refreshed its Avenger line with the 2018 Bajaj Avenger Street 180. With the new cruiser, the brand is replacing the Avenger 150. The only competitor in the sub-200 cc cruiser market is the Suzuki Intruder 150.
The Suzuki Intruder 150 has an in-your-face styling, derived from its bigger 1,800 cc cousin. The bulky bodywork is muscular, and the bike features a full-digital instrumentation. The 2018 Bajaj Avenger Street 180 on the other hand retains the Avenger’s trademark swanky cruiser-like design lines, with a raked-out front end and a small but fat rear tyre.

The Suzuki Intruder comes with a projector LED DRL, whereas the new Avenger comes with refreshed headlamp design with DRL strip. Despite the Avenger’s bigger engine, the power advantage is marginal, and the Intruder makes slightly more torque, that too at a lower rpm. The Intruder also features a monoshock, whereas the Avenger comes with 12% longer rear shock absorbers than the Avenger 150.

The Intruder’s fatter tyres and the presence of a single channel ABS makes it a relatively better bike when it comes to braking. The Avenger has a slightly better range thanks to the 2-litre bigger fuel tank than the Intruder. Overall, the Intruder’s design and equipment command a considerable premium of INR 18,597 over the Avenger.
