The Suzuki Vitara Brezza could cannibalise the Suzuki S-Cross' sales.

Following the Maruti Vitara Brezza’s world premiere at Auto Expo 2016, Suzuki Indomobil Motor showcased the Suzuki Vitara Brezza at GIIAS 2016. That was over a year ago, and the company is still studying the launch, says a fresh report from Kompas. The development was confirmed by R. Uchiki, GM (Strategic Planning Department), Suzuki Indomobil Motor. A problem is that the Suzuki Vitara could cannibalise the Suzuki S-Cross’ sales, as both models are technically in the B-segment.

The Suzuki S-Cross looks a proper urban crossover and is well-equipped. The Suzuki Vitara Brezza has a tough SUV-like design. It is not only smaller, but also more economical due to the more basic equipment. The sub-compact SUV is 3,995 mm long, 1,790 mm wide and 1,640 mm tall. It has a 2,500 mm wheelbase and a 198 mm ground clearance.

The Suzuki Vitara Brezza is powered by the 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel engine that produces 90 PS at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. Unfortunately, something that would matter in Indonesia, a petrol engine, is unavailable. A petrol engine for the Vitara Brezza is in the works, and maybe that would make the Vitara Brezza a more suitable product for Indonesia. For now, no launch timeline is available.
