Mahindra XUV500 petrol launched at INR 15.49 lakhs

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has launched added a petrol variant to the XUV500 lineup. The Mahindra XUV500 petrol is priced at INR 15.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new variant has gone on sale in select cities only.

Mahindra is offering the petrol variant of the XUV500 in a single trim called 'G AT'. The XUV500 G AT variant is powered by a 2.2 L mHawk petrol engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This engine produces 140 hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 320 Nm. These figures are nearly identical to the diesel variant, which outputs 140 bhp and 330 Nm. There is no AWD on offer. The same config is offered in Qatar and the UAE.

Under the hood, the XUV500 employs a 2.2 L mHawk engine that churns out 140 hp and 320 Nm. A 6-speed Aisin sourced automatic gearbox is the sole transmission option on offer.

The XUV500 petrol is visually identical to the model introduced in May 2015. Speculation leading up to the launch of the petrol variant of the XUV500 hinted at its introduction alongside the launch of the facelift sometime in early 2018. However, that has obviously not been the case.
