Following its introduction in the UAE last month, the Mahindra XUV500 petrol has now been launched in Qatar. Team BHP has shared images and details of the petrol variant of the SUV. The XUV500 petrol variant reportedly being planned for the Indian market is likely to have similar specifications.
It is powered by a 2.2 L mHawk G140 petrol engine that produces 138 bhp of max power and 320 Nm of peak torque. Mahindra is offering the XUV500 in three variants - W8 FWD, W8 AWD, and W10 AWD. The W8 FWD is, as per the information provided by Team BHP's source, is available only with a 6-speed manual, while the W8 AWD and W10 AWD variants employ only a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The Mahindra XUV500 petrol features static bending headlamps, projector headlamps, LED light guides, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 6 speakers, iPod, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity, voice command support, navigation, tyre pressure monitor, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, and a glass-embedded antenna. Unlike the W10 trim sold in India, the one available in Qatar doesn't get an electrically adjustable driver's seat. There are six exterior colours on offer - Sunset Orange, Pearl White, Opulent Purple, Volcano Black, Tuscan red, Dolphin Grey, and Moondust Silver.
The SUV is visually identical to the diesel variants sold in India. However, the front fender bears an 'mHawk G140' badge to denote the presence of a petrol engine.
