Earlier this year, the 2018 Nissan Paladin’s front-end and profile were leaked through an official image. Now, a spy shot from the production floor has exposed its rear-end, courtesy Burlappcar.
While the Nissan Navara features vertical tail lamps, the 2018 Nissan Paladin features contemporary, horizontal wrap-around tail lamps. Its rear-end appears to have a roof spoiler and chrome tailgate appliqué as well. The bumper looks very muscular with the protruding portions on the corners.
Nissan offers the Nissan Navara in China with the QR25 2.5-litre petrol engine that produces 135 kW (180.97 hp) and 236 Nm/251 Nm of torque. This engine may find its place under the 2018 Nissan Paladin’s hood as well. Nissan may likely sell this SUV in the ASEAN, the Middle East and Oceania markets, maybe as the next-gen Nissan Xterra or with a different name. The company may offer the Navara’s 2.3-litre turbocharged diesel, 2.3-litre twin-turbo diesel and 2.5-litre diesel engines outside China.

Like the old Nissan Paladin, the next-gen Nissan Paladin’s production will likely take place at the Zhengzhou Nissan JV plant in China. The Nissan Navara-based SUV will rival the Ford Everest (Ford Endeavour) and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Toyota Fortuner. It will debut at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show next April.
