The 2018 Hyundai i20 facelift will be unveiled at the Auto Expo (starts on February 9, 2018) reports CarDekho. The updated model will bring about changes to the exterior to bring it in line with Hyundai's current family look. The report claims Hyundai revealed the information at the recent launch of the 2017 Hyundai Verna.
A heavily camouflaged test mule of the Hyundai Elite i20 facelift was first spotted in April. Subsequent sightings revealed a few more details, but HMIL has managed to keep the changes safely under wraps. However, there are certain changes to the exterior that we can all but confirm. For starters, it will get Hyundai's signature 'Cascading' grille. As depicted by IAB's rendering of the 2018 Hyundai i20 facelift, it could get reprofiled headlamps and a more sculpted front bumper.
Spy shots reveal changes to the tailgate, which will house the number plate instead of the rear bumper. The tail lights could get updated graphics including the addition of LED detailing. Past spy pictures also reveal Mercedes-Benz CLA-like diamond cut alloy wheels.
Judging by the heavily camouflaged dashboard, updates could be made to the layout as well. However, additions to the equipment list could be few since the car is already fairly rich in features. Changes to the cabin could be in the form of new seat upholstery and updates to the instrument console.
Expect the current 1.2 L Kappa petrol, 1.4 L Gamma petrol and 1.4 L U2 CRDi diesel engine options to be carried forward. The 1.4 L petrol is available in Magna trim with a 4-speed automatic transmission option.
