Will feature heavily reworked front and rear fascias.
Autocar India has managed to acquire the first ever spy shots of a facelifted 2018 Hyundai Elite i20, which is heavily wrapped and covered up with black canvas.
One of the spy shots offer a first look at the new front fascia of the i20, which looks entirely different from the current i20's face, and seems to draw heavy inspiration from the international-spec 2017 Hyundai i30. The projector headlamps are sleeker with more prominent DRLs flanking a larger hexagonal grille with vertical chrome slats.
The rear-end, we reckon, will feature new taillamps with LED illumination and a sportier bumper design. The registration plate mount has been repositioned upwards, hinting there could be more sheet metal changes. Also new is the set of alloy wheels, which seem to be 16-inchers in the test mule. As for the interior, changes could likely be limited to trim updates and new upholstery options.

Engine options are likely to be retained: the petrol variant can be had with a 1.2L Kappa paired with a 5-speed manual, or a 1.4L Kappa mated to a 4-speed automatic. The diesel variant should continue with the 1.4L turbodiesel unit paired with a 6-speed manual.
HMIL could use the Auto Expo as the launch platform for the 2018 Hyundai i20. It would be interesting to see if the current i20 shifts to the 'Prime' carline at the launch.
