The 2018 iteration of the Yamaha R25 will feature LED lighting and front upside fork, reports Iwanbanaran.com.
According to the Indonesian auto website, the 2018 version will witness a major design overhaul and the LED lighting will be similar to the one found in the 2017 Yamaha YZF-R1. However, the recent spy shot of the bike did not have either of the features. It could be possible that the bike was a prototype without the aforementioned features or clever masking. Going by the latest report, the bike could look similar to the concept version also showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo.
The current generation R25 employs a 250cc DOHC 8-valve engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The diamond type frame houses the powerplant. The engine is capable of producing 36 PS of power at 12,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. It works in tandem with a 6-speed gearbox. Expect Yamaha to implement some of the new technologies like Variable Valve Actuation and slipper clutch in the 2018 Yamaha R25.
On the current bike, the seat height stands at 780 mm and the bike tips the scales at 166 kg. The fuel tank is capable of holding 14 litres of juice. The current generation bike comes with ABS as an option. Except weight, expect specifications to be unchanged.
