JD Power India crowns Royal Enfield winner in Dealer Satisfaction Study

Two-wheelers have been included in the JD Power India Dealer Satisfaction with Automotive Manufacturers Index (DSWAMI) Study for the first time.

Royal Enfield has ranked highest in the 2017 JD Power India Dealer Satisfaction with Automotive Manufacturers Index Study. The manufacturer scored 868 on 1,000. In stark contrast, Mahindra’s two-wheeler division came last with their score totalling to 643. TVS Motor was a close second with 834 while the industry average stood at 780.

Royal Enfield topped the 2017 JD Power India Dealer Satisfaction with Automotive Manufacturers Index Study followed by TVS, Honda, Hero and Bajaj.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd and their erstwhile partner Hero MotoCorp ranked third and fourth with 808 and 790 points respectively. Bajaj Auto, which is the country’s largest exporter of two-wheelers, ranked fifth with 779 points.

India Yamaha Motor and Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd finished sixth and seventh with 731 and 716 points respectively. The study measured dealer satisfaction with vehicle manufacturers in India. Dealer satisfaction is determined by examining nine factors which are sales team, marketing & sales activities, support from the manufacturer, product, vehicle ordering & delivery, training, warranty claims, after sales team and spare parts.

JD Power India contacted 2,358 dealer principals or dealership general managers located in more than 200 cities throughout India between January and March 2017.
