The Isuzu MU-X has been spied undisguised by Motoroctane ahead of its launch scheduled for 11 May. Note that the model spotted is the pre-facelift version of the MU-X which will be sold in India in the initial period, while the facelifted version could be introduced later.
The Isuzu MU-X will come out of Isuzu’s new facility in Andhra Pradesh and is claimed to be produced at a high localisation rate. The India-spec MU-X comes equipped with features like 17-inch alloy wheels, LED DRL strips beside the fog lamps, projector headlamps, dual slat chrome grille, chrome ORVM caps, roof rails, gloss grey bumper finish, sideboard and a rear spoiler.
Inside, the MU-X has an all-black dashboard contrasted by beige leather upholstery and silver trim. Features include 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat, 6-speaker touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and navigation, automatic climate control, split and fold second and third-row seats, 12 cup holders and 19 cubby holes.
At launch, the MU-X will pack a 3.0L turbodiesel engine paired with a 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual, producing 163 PS and 380 Nm of peak torque. A 4×4 drivetrain will be standard, while the 4×2 version could arrive later. The MU-X will place its crosshair on the Toyota Fortuner.
