The present generation Yamaha V-Ixion borrows the powertrain from Yamaha R15 v2.0.

The 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion has been rendered by Indonesian automotive design specialist Julak Sendie Design. Based on the uncamouflaged spy picture which came up, the Yamaha V-Ixion update will be sharper than the present generation model.

The 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion is expected to be powered by the new 155.1 cc mill from the R15 v3.0 which in the faired bike produces 19.31 PS and 14.7 Nm of peak torque.

The 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion will be suspended over standard telescopic forks up front and a monoshock with adjustable preload in the rear. Braking duties will be taken care of by disc brakes all around while ABS can be expected to continue to be absent.

The headlamp cluster follows the design philosophy seen in the present crop of Yamaha naked motorcycles seen around the world. It gets a halogen bulb while the tail lamp cluster will get LEDs. The side profile of the Yamaha V-Ixion appears cleaner and sharper while the exhaust canister too follows the family cues.

Powering the 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion is expected to be the 155.1 cc single cylinder, liquid cooled fuel injected VVA mill which can be expected to be coupled to a five-speed gearbox just like the present generation model. The engine in the Yamaha R15 v3.0 produces 19.31 PS of maximum power at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm.
