WalkoART has caught the 2017 Mercedes GLA testing in Stuttgart, featuring minimal camouflage that covers the facelifted sections. Reports suggest that it could make its world premiere in the second half of 2016, and launch in markets from 2017.

Judging by the covered portions, the only changes to the exterior of the updated GLA crossover are the new Multibeam LED headlamps, LED DRLs, and revised LED taillamps. Otherwise, rest of the vehicle looks largely identical to the model currently sold. Unlike its cousins, the facelifted CLA (launch in 2016) and A Class, the bumper and exhaust tip designs remain intact.

Changes in the interior could be limited to a revised 8 inch freestanding COMAND infotainment display that will offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, new interior color options, new dashboard trim and slightly updated buttons.

Unlike its cousins, the facelifted CLA (launch in 2016) and A Class, the bumper and exhaust tip designs of the 2017 Mercedes GLA remain intact.

The facelifted GLA will source the refined engine lineup from the 2016 Mercedes A Class. In the latter, power has been bumped by 7 hp in the A250 and A220d variants. Power is sent through either a 6-speed manual or a 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission to the wheels.

The 2017 Mercedes GLA could arrive in India sometime in 2017, where it will be locally assembled at the company's plant in Chakan, Pune.
