Will be unveiled on April 24.
Maruti has dropped the first teaser of the 2017 Swift Dzire, revealing the design sketch of its profile. MSIL also confirmed that the national launch will be conducted next month, although a specific date is yet to be revealed. Reports suggest that it will unfold on 25 May.
Like a regular sub-4m sedan, the new Swift Dzire retains the 3-box sedan design but draws cues from the latest Suzuki Swift. For instance, it has the "liquid flow'' lines seen in the Baleno and gets LED headlamps with DRLs in the top-end grade. The top-end Dzire will ride on new 15-inch dual tone multi-spoke alloy rims, while the rear-end has all new vertical taillamps. The bold chrome accents of the front fascia seen in spy shots are also highlighted in the design sketch.
The interior is yet to be revealed, but spy shots show that it gets a dual tone beige and black colour combination with silver and faux wood accents, a restyled centre console, new auto climate control buttons, leather-wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel with buttons for audio and Bluetooth telephony (besides the horn pad), and a 7-inch Smartplay touchscreen.
The new Dzire will be based on Maruti’s new lightweight platform, so expect it to be significantly more fuel efficient. Prices could also be marginally more expensive than the outgoing Dzire, but still remain competitive for the sub-4m sedan segment.
