The Kawasaki Z250 is the smallest displacement Kawasaki road legal bike in India.
A report in Car and Bike reveals that Kawasaki India is planning to launch the 2017 Kawasaki Z250 in India on April 22, 2017. The motorcycle will get a minor facelift and possibly gain the safety net of ABS.
The bike is expected to gain new colour options which may include orange and grey scheme retailed in Indonesia. The 249 cc powerhouse though will remain the same as the model sold in India now. The liquid-cooled parallel twin mill is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, and the engine is capable of producing 32 PS of maximum power at 11,000 rpm and 21 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 rpm.
The Kawasaki Z250 is suspended over 37 mm standard telescopic forks in the front and a bottom link Uni-Trak gas-charged monoshock in the rear with 5-step adjustable preload. Brakes include a 290 mm petal unit up front and a 220 mm petal disc in the rear both with dual piston calliper. The bike tips the scales at 168 kg and can store 17-litre of petrol. Ground clearance stands at 145 mm.
Kawasaki India, however, failed to make the Kawasaki Z250 success owing to its high price tag. The naked roadster at present retails at INR 3.11 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
