Will debut later this year.
The 2017 Audi Q5 has been spied testing nearly uncamouflaged ahead of its debut later this year. With the 2017 (2018 for North America) model year, the Audi Q5 will move to its second generation this year.
The second generation Audi Q5, as seen in the spyshots, retains its familiar character but receives a redesigned grille, bumpers, headlights and taillamps. The new generation model also features a chrome strip that runs along the length of the SUV.
The next-gen Audi Q5 will be underpinned by the second generation Modular Longitudinal Matrix platform. This platform, also known as ‘MLB evo', currently forms basis for the second generation Audi Q7, fifth generation Audi A4 and the second generation Audi A5 Coupe, as well as the Bentley Bentayga.

The 2017 Audi Q5 is expected to be powered by the familiar four- and six-cylinder TFSI petrol and TDI diesel engines from the Audi A4, Audi A5, Audi Q3 and Audi Q7, with displacements ranging from 1.4- to 3.0-litre. Transmission choices should include 6-speed manual, 7-speed S tronic and 8-speed tiptronic. Derivatives will include S performance, e-tron plug-in hybrid and RS high-performance variants. The latter is said to be introduced in H2 2017. Expect the new Q5 to launch in India next year, where it will be assembled at the Aurangabad facility.
