Reported to launch on January 13.
Maruti has dropped the first teaser of the Maruti Ignis crossover on its NEXA website, suggesting that a launch is imminent. Several reports state that the Ignis will go on sale on January 13.
The teaser highlights the front-end of the Ignis, especially the U-shaped LED DRLs, and chrome garnish around the headlamps and grille which are exclusive to the top-end 'Alpha' grade. Other than that no confirmed details on the Ignis have surfaced.
The crossover was scheduled to launch in the last festive season, as stated by Maruti officials at its Auto Expo 2016 unveil, but strong demand for products like the Vitara Brezza and Baleno forced the company to postpone its trial production and launch.
It will be sold through Maruti's NEXA line of premium of dealerships, alongside the Maruti S-Cross and Baleno. With the introduction of Ignis, Maruti is hoping to further increase customer footfalls as well as popularity of NEXA dealerships across India.
