2016 Proton Saga gets the wagon treatment.
Proton launched the all-new 2016 Proton Saga last month in Malaysia. Now, speculative renderings created by Theophilus Chin preview a 'Proton Saga Aeroback', the estate version of the 2016 Proton Saga. The renderings seem to have been created using the Skoda Rapid Spaceback.
While Proton has created a test mule of an estate version, as revealed in spy shots in June, reports suggest that it's unlikely to make it to the market. Pushing the 5-seat estate off the table, Proton will focus next on the rebadged Suzuki Ertiga that will be an economical 7-seat people mover for the Malaysian market.
The 2016 Proton Saga sedan is powered by the 1.3-litre VVT four-cylinder engine that produces 70 kW (94 hp) at 5,750 rpm and 120 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The only available engine can be linked to a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission. The range consists of three trim levels: Standard, Executive and Premium. The 5-speed manual transmission is available only in the Standard trim level.

Prices of the Proton Saga start at RM 36,800 (INR 5,86,513.54).
