Nothing but a beefed up Rapid hatchback with a rugged, crossover appeal.
The Skoda Rapid Spaceback Scoutline variant has been unveiled at 2015 IAA (Frankfurt Motor Show). It is a spruced up version of the Rapid Spaceback, sporting a rugged looking exterior kit. The new Spaceback Scoutline based on the Rapid hatchback is like the relationship of the VW Cross Polo to the Polo hatchback - features crossover type exteriors with no mechanical upgrades.
The exterior of the Europe-specific Rapid Spaceback Scoutline features redesigned front and rear bumpers with scuff plates (finished in black and silver), plastic lower body cladding on the sides including wheel arches, and the side mirror caps too coated in black and silver. The choice of alloy wheels is believed to either be a 16-inch Rock or 17-inch Camelot units. The body colour list will copy that of the existing Rapid Spaceback. Changes in the interior are not anticipated.
The roster of powertrains in the Skoda Rapid Spaceback Scoutline remains the same as in the regular Rapid hatchback, including three petrol engines and two diesel mills, all of which will feature start/stop and regenerative braking system. The gasoline motors are a 90 hp (66 KW) unit, a 110 hp (81 KW) motor and a 125 hp (92 KW) model, while the diesel engines are a 90 hp (66 KW) mill and a 116 hp (85 KW) unit.
