The Hexa is expected to go on sale in this July-August, and replace the Tata Aria.

As seen in the spyshot, the base variant of the Tata Hexa will not get projector headlamps, foglamps, and LED daytime running strips in the front fascia. It will also not get the 5-spoke diamond cut alloy wheel; rather a smaller set of steel rims shod by chunky tires. Roof rails seen in the top-end grade are not seen in the test mule too.

As of now, Tata has not revealed the list of features standard in the base model. The top-end Hexa will feature ESP (Electronic Stability Program), 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, leather upholstery, 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, Traction control, cruise control, steering-mounted controls and a 5-inch touchscreen entertainment designed by Harman.

All variants will be powered by the same VARICOR diesel engine. Given the crackdown on diesel-powered cars displacing over 2000 cc, Tata could introduce a sub-2.0L diesel engine based on the current 2.2L VARICOR unit. Transmission options could include a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox, and an AWD system is likely to be offered in top-end grades.
