TVS Motor has unveiled and launched the all-new TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, in an event in Chennai today. The Apache RTR 200 4V is priced at INR 88,990 (carburetor, non-ABS model, ex-Showroom, New Delhi). The ABS model is expected to cost INR 1.07-1.08 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi when it is launched later this FY.
The Apache RTR 200 4V measures 2,050 mm in length, 790 mm in width, 1,105 mm in height, 1,353 mm in wheelbase, 800 mm in saddle height and 180 mm in ground clearance. The naked sportsbike rides on a double cradle split synchro stiff frame and gets a mono-tube monoshock suspension at the rear and telescopic forks up front. The fuel tank capacity is good for 12 liters.
It is powered by a 197.75 cc, SOHC, four-valve, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine and is available with a carburetor or an electronic fuel injection. The Apache RTR 200 develops 20.5 PS at 8,500 rpm, whereas the Apache RTR 200 EFI makes 21 PS at 8,500 rpm. Both variants churn 18.1 Nm of torque though.
The transmission is a 5-speed unit with the clutch being a wet 6-plate unit. Braking power comes from a 270 mm petal disc up front and a 240 mm petal disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS. The Apache RTR 200 4V is shod with 90/90-17 and 130/70-17 tubeless tyres at the front and rear respectively.
The carburetor model weighs 148 kg, whereas the EFI comes in at 148.5 kg. The latter has a top-speed of 129 km/h and accelerates from 0-60 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The carburetor model on the other hand takes 3.95 seconds, and has its top-speed capped at 127 km/h. 0-100 km/h takes 12 seconds on both models.
The Apache RTR 200 will be available in 7 colors.
