Could be launched during this fiscal.
Courtesy of Carwale reader, Mandeep Singh, the 2016 Renault Duster has been spied testing in Chennai, featuring a light cammo wrap on its exterior. Reports suggest that the facelifted model could launch in this fiscal.
Other than the new LED taillight clusters, the 2016 Renault Duster will also sport an updated alloy wheel design, re-profiled bumper set, and a new front end with revised grille, headlamps. Being a facelift, it continues to retain the rugged exterior with the muscular rear haunches, low ride height and high ground clearance.
Under the hood, the Renault Duster facelift is expected to retain the 1.5-liter dCi diesel engine, though reports suggest that Renault will offer a 6-speed dual-clutch EDC automatic transmission on the top-most variant. The current Duster is also available with a 1.6-liter petrol engine, which should continue being offered in the facelifted model, as well as an AWD variant with independent suspension.
Given the rise in demand for its new rivals like the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti S-Cross, the timing of the facelift’s arrival could not have been a coincidence.
