Next generation model to be influenced by latest design philosophy.
Kia is currently working on a next generation version of the Kia Cadenza (or Kia K7 in South Korea), which is all set to replace the first generation model that made its debut in 2010.
The company previewed its latest design philosophy in the form of the Sportspace and Novo concepts, as well as in the new Kia Optima. The next generation Kia Cadenza will feature a new design heavily influenced by the said design philosophy; characteristic features being the tiger nose grille, and ice-cubed LED foglights.
Like the new Optima, the upcoming Cadenza is expected to sport an interior that will be a step up with respect to build quality, trim materials and design. At the moment details on the interior are scarce.
The new Cadenza will launch with an all new range of of petrol GDi and diesel engines (for European markets). The diesel lineup could pack a revised 2.2 CRDi with 200 hp, while the petrol lineup could be available with a range of high output 3.0, 3.3 and 3.8 GDi engines. Kia might also add a 2.0 T-GDi turbo engine delivering 250 hp as an entry level petrol option. As for the transmission, the next Cadenza will feature Kia's in-house developed 7-speed dual clutch unit.
