Unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show.
The 2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and the 2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R have been launched in India. They are priced at INR 16.4 lakhs and INR 17.9 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The litre-class model has received substantial upgrades while the flagship Ninja features just some minor revisions.
2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R
The 2016 ZX-10R features a revised chassis which is lighter, improved engine that is now Euro IV compliant; Brembo M50 monoblock brake calipers with Brembo idle stroke checked radial master cylinder that offers Brake Force Modulability, and a WSBK inspired adjustable Showa front fork. The 998 cc inline four-cylinder motor, which has 20 percent reduced inertia courtesy of enhancements including a lighter crankshaft, is tuned to produce the same peak power of 200 PS.
The bike has also received some upgrades in the electronics department, which includes a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit which comprises of a Bosch IMU that takes care of measurements of five axes while the sixth axis is recorded by a program in the Kawasaki ECU. The other features available on the 2016 ZX-10R include launch control, traction control, engine power mode selector and a brake management system.
2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R
The 2016 ZX-14R has received far less updates compared to the ZX-10R. The ECU of the bike has been updated, the engine is made Euro IV compliant, and the suspension has been re-tuned for better high-speed stability. The mill continues to produce 200 PS of peak power and 158 Nm of peak torque.
