The Hyundai Avante Sport (2016 Hyundai Elantra Sport) has been revealed in South Korea as the performance variant of the sixth generation Hyundai Avante (Hyundai Elantra) that debuted late last year. The Avante Sport measures 4,570 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,435 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. With that said, the only dimension change is the height being reduced by 5 mm.
The Sport variant gets modest exterior tweaks like distinctive HID headlamps with sharper clusters, a six-slat chrome radiator grille with 'Turbo' badge and unique black surround that starts from the innerside of the headlamps, restyled front bumper featuring horizontal LED daytime running lights and C-shaped chrome trim on the larger air inlets, unique side skirts, 18-inch lightweight wheels, modified rear bumper, unique LED taillamps with C-shaped graphics, 'Sport' badge on the tailgate, faux diffuser and twin exhaust tips. Interior highlights include flat-bottomed steering wheel with body-colored stitching, sport bucket seats, faux carbon fibre trim and red accents.

Under the bonnet, there's a 1.6-litre T-GDi turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 204 PS (201 hp) and 27.0 kgf-m (265 Nm) of torque. Transmission choices include 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Multi-link rear suspension is the standard offering, while an optional Extreme package allows customers to equip the car with upgraded stabilizer bars, different springs and shocks, as well as a rear spoiler.
