Expected to be launched in August.
The 2016 Hyundai Elantra has been spied testing in Chennai by The Automotive India forum member 350Z just weeks ahead of its expected market launch in India in August. The sixth generation Hyundai Elantra, also called Hyundai Avante, is already on sale in South Korea and other markets outside India now.
The 2016 Hyundai Elantra will likely be available in two engine models in India: 2.0 MPI and 1.6 VGT, multiple import listings on Zauba suggest. The 1.6 GDi, 1.6 T-GDi and 1.6 LPi engine models are unlikely to be offered in India.
The 2.0 MPI model is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 149 PS (146.90 hp) and 183 Nm of torque and the 1.6 VGT model has a 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine developing 136 PS (134.09 hp) and 306 Nm of torque. Transmission choices are expected to be 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
