Could rival the Mercedes GLA 45 AMG.
BMW revealed the second generation X1 crossover last week, featuring an evolutionary design, new UKL platform and fuel-efficient engines. However, there was no word of an "M" version of the X1, which could sit as the range-topping model, offering prospective customers an option for a performance-oriented crossover.
Although there are still no reports of a possible introduction, X-Tomi Design has rendered their version of the BMW X1 M, giving us an insight as to what the new X1 would look like with the usual M treatment.
Expect a body kit that is more aerodynamic and aggressive than the already-sporty X1 with the M-Sport package, with characteristic features such as large intakes, low profile tires, wider body kit and a quad exhaust system.
It's unclear on what engine it could be getting, if BMW ever green-lights the X1 M. It could draw power from a highly force-fed 2.0-liter turbo petrol motor producing north of 300 hp. However, there were reports that the UKL platform is flexible enough for an inline six cylinder engine option.
